Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation | Wear Test + Review

Hi Dolls and Gents,

Today, I am going to be reviewing the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation. This product was the most talk about and hyped about in the entire collection. People have been waiting to try out this foundation, so I went to Sephora and go me some.

I got a sample from Sephora and I swatched 460 and 470 on the neck to find the perfect match my face and chest. I am happy with the shade selection. If you like to know more about my thoughts about this foundation, just keep on reading.

What is it:

A soft matte, a long-wear foundation with buildable, medium to full coverage, in boundary-breaking range of shades.

What does it do:

Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear gives a smooth, pore-diffused, shine-free finish that easily builds medium to full coverage. The oil-free formula is made with a climate-adaptive technology that resistant sweat and humidity, won't clog your pores so wherever you are, it's going to work on your skin. Best of all, this long-wearing, light as air texture is undetectable on the skin.

The shade I chose was 470 which is for very deep skin with neutral undertones with subtle red tones. For foundation reference, I am a

My Thoughts + Wear Test

First Initial Application

I applied the foundation at 1:30 in the afternoon. My initial reaction after I blended it out with the beauty blender was wtf this matches me perfectly. The coverage is medium to buildable. I won't build up the coverage unless I needed to. The foundation was lightweight on the face. It didn't feel heavy or it didn't feel like there was the foundation on. The finish of the foundation is a soft matte finish, it dries down to a powder finish. Also, the consistency of the foundation is very liquidy. It also minimizes the size of my pores on my nose and cheeks and it was smooth.

2 HR Update

The foundation did not change. It looks the same as I applied it. I didn't set my face with any powder. I was out on the town and it was a warm hot day in Toronto and it did not melt off my face or transfer.

5 HR Update

My oil on my nose is starting to come through. Though, the foundation has not broken up on my nose. It is just shiny. The foundation on the rest of my face is still the same as I applied it.

10 HR Update

My oils have definitely broken through the foundation, however, it did not break up the foundation and it looked the same as the 5 hr mark. My face still looks the same and there is no transfer of the foundation anywhere. The foundation has not faded anywhere on my face and it didn't crease in my laugh lines and sides of the nose. The longevity of this foundation has held up well for the last 10 HRS.

Overall, this foundation is perfect. It lives up to the claims. I have never been so impressed with a foundation on the first try. I really enjoyed the longevity of the foundation. It didn't fade or move. There was moving of foundation on my nose and that is because of my oils but I happy to see that the foundation didn't break down after my oils came through. The foundation held up very good. The foundation didn't feel heavy with the long wear, it still felt lightweight. The climate adaptive technology actually works. It was a hot day when I tested out this foundation and I was sweating and the foundation looked the same. It is the perfect foundation to wear if you have an event to go to. I have nothing but good things to say about this foundation. Also, the foundation did not oxizide on me through the wear. Other than that, I have to say that I will be purchasing this foundation ASAP.

I hope you enjoyed my review on the Fenty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation. I hope that this helps you make your decision of trying it out. I will see you guys in the next post.
